Recreational Vehicle Regulations
Recently, the Weed Police Department has had an increase in incidents, both citizen complaint and city/officer initiated regarding inhabiting RV's in violation of the Weed Municipal Code.
The WMC 16.08 prohibits the use of recreational vehicles, including travel trailers, for living, sleeping, or commercial purposes outside of an RV park within the city limits. A connection to utilities, for purposes of enfocement, of any mobile home, trailer coach , travel trailer or camp car which is connected to an external source of electricity, gas, water or sewage disposal is presumed to be in use as living or sleeping quarter or for commercial purposes.
Parkng of all vehicles, including recreational vehicles and trailers is limited to 72 hours on the city street. Any vehicle stored on a property must also be currently registered. Storage of vehicles with a DMV Planned Nonoperation (PNO) filing is not allowed, except in very limited circumstances.
Violations of the ordinance are subject to daily fines.
