CITY OF WEED PLANNING COMMISSION

                                                              SPECIAL MEETING

                                                               AUGUST 29, 2001

 

 

The Planning Commission of the City of Weed held a special meeting on Wednesday, August 29, 2001, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

 

Chairman Virgil Tuman called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance.  Present, in addition to Chairman Tuman were Commissioners Richard Acquistapace, Harold Baltar, Candace Dillingham, Jess Gonzales, and Teddy McGaughey.  City Administrator Earl Wilson was also present. 

 

PUBLIC BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR

 

Chairman Tuman invited comments and/or questions from the audience on specific agenda items, or any item of interest that is within the Commission’s jurisdiction, noting that no action could be taken by the Commission except to set the matter presented for the next regular Commission meeting.  There were none. 

 

CONFLICTS OF INTEREST

 

Chairman Tuman called for Commissioners to declare conflicts of interest on any item on this agenda. There were none. 

 

REGULAR AGENDA

 

A.  Workshop -- “The Planning Commissioner’s Book”:  What is the Planning Commission, Why Have a Planning Commission, How Does it Relate to the Planning Department, and What Does it Do?

 

Commissioners agreed to adjourn no later than 9:00 p.m., and commenced a chapter by chapter discussion of “The Planning Commissioner’s Book” prepared by the State Office of Planning and Research. 

 

No action was taken, and at the conclusion of the workshop, the Commission agreed to schedule another workshop on September 26, 2001, at 7:00 p.m. to continue study of the material. 

 

 

ADJOURNMENT

 

Commissioner Gonzales moved adjournment, and Commissioner Acquistapace seconded the motion.

ABSENT:           Commissioner Heiser
